About the role

The Opportunity Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager. The Role In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assists qualified donors in completing the screening process.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process per SOPs.
• Assess self‑administered health history.
• Answer basic medical questions related to the donation process.
• Refer donors to medical staff when appropriate.
• Perform health screening procedures: blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature.
• Perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and total protein samples.
• Upon appropriate training, educate new donors on therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including screening process, health tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and other pertinent information.
• Ensure donor questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally.
• Register applicant and transfer donors after training and as operationally needed.
• Answer telephone calls, address caller questions, or transfer calls to appropriate staff.
• Maintain alertness for donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify appropriate staff.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper‑immune programs at the center (if applicable).
