Responsibilities

  • Referral Management
    Follows up with donor hospital partners on active organ donor referrals at least every morning and night to assess for changes that would require an on-site presence or other action necessary to preserve donation opportunities.
  • Handles incoming organ referrals calls from donor hospital partners.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools and platforms to deploy staff onsite for referrals, brain death exams, end of life decisions, and other opportunities to interface with and educate donor hospital staff.
  • Access hospital electronic medical record (EMR) to review pertinent medical history and clinical course.
  • Transfers appropriate data into True North (TN) and review donor suitability with administrator on call (AOC), or Medical Director(s) when needed.
  • Arranges for air and ground travel and other logistics related to regional case activity.
  • Communicates with hospital personnel, organ work system (OWS) staff, Approach Coach, and AOCs on a frequent basis.
  • Trips incoming requests, notifications, and communication from transplant centers regarding current and completed cases as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and previous experience in a medical-related field required.
  • Experience as an EMT, Medical Assistant, or CNA preferred.
  • BLS Certification is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Skilled in navigating electronic medical records preferred.
  • Skilled in customer service, communication, simplifying, and conveying concisely complex concepts and strong interpersonal skills required.

  • Training Schedule would be Monday- Friday regular business hours for 4 to 8 weeks.
