Medical Records Coder III - ED Coding (Part Time) REMOTE

About the role

Performs advanced coding functions by reviewing short-stay focused encounters and assigning accurate diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems.

Collaborates with departments to resolve documentation gaps and monitors bill hold reports.

Demonstrates strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Affords assistance to the Manager/Director in mentoring and training Coder 1 and 2 team members and clinical practice students.

Contributes to the accuracy and integrity of the medical record.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• 5 Years of Outpatient Coding

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or Equivalent GED

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
