About the role
The Medical Records Secretary position at StoneRidge is responsible for maintaining and managing the medical records of current and discharged residents. This role involves ensuring that records are complete, accurate, and stored according to state and federal guidelines. Additionally, the Medical Records Secretary is responsible for coordinating and maintaining minutes for quality assurance meetings, serving as the Health Center Receptionist, managing mail, assisting with supply orders, updating forms and policies, and providing support to various departments within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records for current and discharged residents.
- Maintain current charts with information pertinent to resident identification and handle excess documentation.
- Prepare charts for admission and after discharges; monitor for incomplete data.
- Provide medical records to appropriate individuals and compile statistical data as required.
- Maintain and update the Census Book and Resident Index Cards.
- Coordinate and maintain minutes for Quality Assurance meetings.
- Serve as Health Center Receptionist, manage mail, assist with supply orders, and monitor resident use of supplies.
- Update and maintain Health Center forms, policies, and procedures, and handle Medicare denial letters.
- Assist with special projects and assignments as needed.
- Send correspondence to providers regarding medical record information.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical data.
- Attend in-service training, educational seminars, and staff meetings.
- Act as secretary to the Director of Nursing on Health Center projects and provide assistance as necessary.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care.
- Good judgment and effective communication skills in English.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Pay
Starting at $20.00-$24.00 per hour.
Schedule
8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
