POSITION SUMMARY
Aid in improving the medical records process and ensure timely completion of all relevant functions.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement plans to enhance the medical records process.
- Complete medical records functions within designated timeliness.
- Ensure availability of necessary medical records documents.
- Support special projects such as CHHA mass mailings, audits, and copying.
- Track MD orders and follow up with MD's or CHHA staff as needed.
- Set up new patient records and disassemble discharge patient records.
- Review records for accurate billing and visit data.
- File and scan clinical documents into the patient electronic record and backup medical record.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Process time slips to payroll after verifying visits against patient schedule.
- Schedule nursing visits for per diem nurses as assigned.
- Back up other agency staff as needed, including answering phones and taking messages.
- Assist supervisory/clinical staff in processing paperwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Record Coordinator, Quality Clinical Manager, and Director of Patient Services.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong phone and communication skills.
- Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Suite.
- General computer and keyboarding skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- High school diploma.
