Medical Records Abstractor - Temporary Role
About the job
The primary focus is the accurate extraction and entry of PAMI+P data (Past Medical, Family, Social History; Allergies; Medications; Immunizations; and Procedures) to ensure physicians have immediate, reliable access to critical patient history at the point of care.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM), Nursing (LPN/RN), or at least 5 years experience in related clinical field.
Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in medical record abstraction, clinical data entry, or medical coding or other related clinical field.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision is necessary to catch transcribing errors.
Medical Terminology: Deep understanding of medical terminology, pharmacology (to recognize brand/generic meds), and anatomy.
Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes: Familiarity with computer applications in healthcare. Prior experience with EMR "Go-Live" or paper-to-digital migration projects.
