Medical Receptionist - UNL Health Center

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Medical Receptionist at our University of Lincoln Health Center Clinic. This role is ideal for someone who has demonstrated longevity, dependability, and accountability in their work, and possesses a desire for a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

About the Role

Serve as the first point of contact by greeting and welcoming patients and others, in person at the check-in desk or via telephone. Responsible for answering incoming calls professionally, checking in and out patients per established protocols, scheduling patient appointments, and registering patients.

Schedule

• 40 hours per week, full-time, academic year only
• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Rotating Saturdays, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Location: UNL Health Center, Lincoln, Nebraska

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to physicians, patients, and other internal/external customers
• Ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff, and patients in a timely, confidential manner
• Demonstrated analytical, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated flexibility and dedication to a team environment
• Effective communication skills

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent
• One year of post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program, or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling (one year of education equals one year of experience)
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
• Depending on the position available, fluency in Spanish
