Responsibilities
- Meticulously verify coverage BEFORE services are provided, preventing claim denials, and maximizing revenue capture
- Excel at Financial Counseling: Confidently explain costs, billing processes, and insurance complexities to patients in a way they understand
- Solve Billing Problems: Proactively identify and resolve insurance discrepancies and billing issues before they impact revenue
- Drive Patient Satisfaction: Deliver exceptional service even during difficult financial conversations - keeping patients happy while handling payment matters
- Own the Front Desk Flow: Process payments, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins with lightning efficiency
- Protect Patient Information: Maintain organized records while strictly following HIPAA regulations
Requirements
- Experience with insurance verification and medical billing (non-negotiable)
- Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to frustrated patients with empathy and clarity
- Obsessively detail-oriented – a single digit error in an insurance ID can cost thousands
- Worked as a Medical Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, or in any Customer Service role in a medical office setting
- Tech-savvy with medical billing software and EMR systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and can find billing solutions that work for both patients and the clinic
- Maintain a positive attitude even when dealing with challenging financial conversations
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred; X-Ray Tech, Medical Assistant or related certification is a plus
- Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within defined onboarding period

Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position is $16.50 to $19.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, and market conditions.
Schedule
Full-time with flexible shifts (some evenings/weekends)
