Medical Receptionist Float

The Medical Receptionist at MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network supports the Mary Bridge Pediatric Outreach, Specialty, Urgent Care, and Primary Care Clinics. This position is located in various clinics across the South Sound, including Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Auburn, Covington, Federal Way, Renton, Puyallup, Olympia, and Silverdale.

About the role

This is an intermediate-level position that requires excellent customer service skills. The primary responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, directing calls, assisting patients/families, scheduling, registration, charge entry, payment posting, batch balancing, cash reconciliation/balancing, and operating various office equipment. This role is highly visible and requires discretion, good judgment, a pleasant and professional demeanor, and an articulate phone voice. External and internal contacts include patients, families, colleagues, physicians, and the general public.

Requirements

• Post high school office procedures preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of clerical and/or receptionist experience; or six (6) months in a medical setting
• Customer service experience
• Preferred degree or relevant certificate (e.g., Medical Office Assistant, Medical Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations
