About the role
The Medical Receptionist is the first in-person point of contact for a patient on behalf of the medical practice. They are responsible for all aspects of front office duties assigned by a clinic. This is an intermediate level position requiring excellent customer service skills. It is highly visible, requiring discretion, good judgment, a pleasant and professional manner and an articulate phone voice. Internal and external contacts include patients, families, co-workers, physicians and the general public.
Responsibilities
- Greeting patients
- Answering phones and directing calls
- Assisting patients and families
- Scheduling, registration, charge entry, payment posting
- Batch balancing, cash reconciliation/balancing
- Operating several types of basic office equipment
Requirements
- Post high school office procedures preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of clerical and/or receptionist experience; or six (6) months in a medical setting
- Customer service experience
- Degree or relevant Certificate (e.g., Medical Office Assistant, Medical Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator) may be substituted for experience

Pay
The pay scale is $21.68 - $31.20 USD. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
Schedule
Full-time (1.0 FTE), day shift, Monday - Friday.
