Medical Receptionist - Family Medicine Clinic - Full Time
About the role
Welcome to Holy Name, a medical center committed to providing comprehensive care that heals the body, mind, and soul. As a member of the Practice team, you will work in both Front and Back Office Clerical and Clinical services.
Responsibilities
- Answers phone, schedules patient appointments in strict adherence to physician schedule, keeps abreast of physician’s overall routine schedule in order to contact physician with messages when he/she is not in the office.
- Greets patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Obtains completed registration forms for each new patient.
- Updates demographic profile at each patient visit.
- Collections payment for services rendered at the time of appointment and for any past due balances.
- Processes requests for patient medical records and/or patient information during office sessions (i.e., patient records, diagnostic test results, other healthcare facilities).
- Reschedules patient appointments as needed (i.e., physician unavailable, delay in appointment schedule, cancellation of physician session).
- Activates and deactivates phone service at the beginning and end of clinic session.
- Reviews the physician on-call schedule with the phone service at the end of clinical hours (i.e., Monday - Friday and weekend hours).
- Reviews and/or updates patient insurance information.
- Depending on the practice, may obtain pre-authorization for various procedures ordered by the physician for individual patients, schedules the patient for the service.
- Distributes correspondence and patient information from patient medical records in accordance with established policies.
- Photocopies and processes forms.
- Opens, date stamps and distributes mail. Pulls medical record for all diagnostic test results and consults received, attaches mail to the chart for physician review.
- Performs follow-up required by physician when chart is returned.
- May be requested to substitute for other office personnel as trained.
- Adheres to Compliance Plan.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years experience.

Pay
Pay Range: $16.00/hour - $20.00/hour
