Medical Receptionists play a vital role in our organization by serving as the frontline connection between our patients and the care they receive. Position Highlights
- 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
- $18.35-$22.48/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates
- This position is eligible for Bilingual Differential Compensation when an ALTA score of 9 is achieved (additional pay for bilingual skills, paid on hours worked)

Responsibilities
- Answer the phone, transfer calls, and take messages as needed for the clinic
- Greet patients and maintain patient and visitor logs
- Notify appropriate person of the patient’s arrival
- Provide translation services as needed to patients
- Ensure accurate and complete data and forms are collected for all patients
- Create and maintain patient charts, registering new patients and updating patient data in the computer
- Schedule patient appointments according to scheduling guidelines, appointment type, and time needed
- Notify appropriate Provider of all patient no-shows and cancellations
- Adjust and update the schedule for cancellations, new patients, and recall appointments
- Verify patient’s insurance eligibility and obtain and file insurance documentation
- Assist patients with questions regarding insurance plans as needed
- Review and respond to patients’ questions in person, via phone, and patient portal systems
- Perform routine billing functions such as posting patient encounters, encouraging payment, taking payments, and generating end-of-day reports
- Review cash box receipts and reconcile cash box daily
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year's experience as a Receptionist in a clinic preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at an ALTA level 9
- Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
- Ability to interact with patients, Providers, and staff in a professional manner
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology desired
- Basic knowledge of healthcare billing and insurance desired
- Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Pay
$18.35-$22.48/hour, with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.
