About the role

Join our team as a front office Medical Receptionist in one of our state-of-the-art health centers. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in elevating patient care and making a lasting impact in your local community. You will work closely with the Medical Reception Supervisor and clinic management team to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate data collection, and an organized front office.

This role helps achieve our organizational mission of providing healthcare access for all community members, ensuring patients and families receive the care they need when they need it.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt clerical support and promote smooth patient flow.
  • Collect and record data accurately; maintain order of the front office, equipment, and supplies.
  • Communicate consistently and openly with supervisors and staff.
  • Work flexible or extended hours as necessary.
  • Participate in health center in-services and meetings, respecting others’ ideas.
  • Abide by rules of confidentiality.
  • Build and maintain rapport with patients and providers of diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED (required).
  • Completed training program in Medical Office Assisting from an accredited college (preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Possess a valid Driver’s license.

Skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Customer-service oriented with the ability to quickly build rapport with patients and providers.
  • Familiarity with adult learning and general training techniques.
  • Positive professional insight, flexibility, and dependability.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Effective leadership/supervisory skills.
  • Proficiency in modern office practices and procedures, including email.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through on tasks.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds (on wheels).
  • Must be able to hear staff on the phone and communicate clearly with patients and staff in person.
  • Must be able to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms, and clinical/administrative documents.
  • High manual dexterity required.
  • Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist/turn.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position starts at $22.00 per hour, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
