Medical Receptionist
About the Role
Horizon Health in Wessington Springs, SD is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to provide a positive first impression for patients in the clinic setting by utilizing customer service skills and the ability to multitask to ensure effective patient flow through the visit. The role is rooted in Horizon Health’s values and focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service that ensures a positive patient experience from the beginning to the end of the appointment, aligned with Horizon Health values.
- Address and resolve patient grievances, concerns, or complaints that may arise.
- Manage the appointment schedule effectively, ensuring appointments are scheduled for appropriate lengths of time and with the correct provider.
- Collect and verify patient demographic information, including name, address, and insurance details, in a private and confidential manner.
- Communicate clear financial expectations to patients, collect co-pays and balances, coordinate payment plans, and support the revenue cycle.
Requirements
- Excellent people and customer service skills.
- Experience with computers is required; experience in the medical field is a plus.
- Passion for delivering patient-centered care.
