Medical Receptionist

The Medical Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors to attend to all callers/visitors promptly. Performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintain long distance call logs.
  • Take and distribute accurate messages.
  • Greet visitors and determine the nature of their visit, issuing visitor passes and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Alert appropriate parties of visitor arrivals or direct visitors to appropriate offices, departments, or employees.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources regarding location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and email addresses.
  • Perform additional responsibilities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages.
  • Limited decision-making within defined parameters, adhering to work expectations, quality standards, priorities, and timing.
  • Work under close guidance and within established guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year or more years of experience working in a Healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Experience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records).
  • Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and care.
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Value-based care experience.

This role is considered patient-facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB. Medical Receptionist Working Hours: Scheduled 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM. Local travel may be required; mileage is reimbursed. Pay Range

$38,000 - $45,800 per year
