Position Overview

Dermatology Specialists, Inc., a large multi-site dermatology practice, is seeking a Medical Practice Administrator to lead and optimize operations across all locations. This role reports directly to the owner physicians and works closely with the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support regional office managers.
  • Manage daily operational activities to ensure efficiency, compliance, and quality of service.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for physicians and professional staff, including MDs, PAs, nurses, and lab technicians.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and 90-day reviews for leadership staff.
  • Develop, implement, and standardize office policies and procedures across all locations.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards (HIPAA, CLIA, COBRA, FMLA).
  • Supervise training and development programs to ensure optimal staff performance.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to promote quality patient care and service excellence.
  • Oversee physician schedules and clinical workflow coordination.
  • Manage payroll operations and collaborate with accounting on financial reporting.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and service.
  • Review and interpret contracts, including leases, insurance, and equipment agreements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of human resources principles and practices, including benefit administration.
  • Past experience leading, motivating, and holding teams accountable.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with policy and procedure development.
  • Strong financial and accounting knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • E-MR (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
  • Experience in physician relations, communication, recruiting, and direct support.
  • Understanding of contract terms and conditions.
