Job Summary

The Radiation Oncology Physics Section at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Human Oncology, is seeking a Medical Physics Assistant (MPA) to engage in radiation oncology physics activities.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Collections and analyzes basic research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures
  • Identifies concerns and recommends solutions to leadership
  • Aids in the development of research methodologies and procedures
  • Trains individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques within a specialized laboratory or research area
  • Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and disseminates information to appropriate entities and assists with publications
  • Aids in the development of grant applications and proposals to secure research funding

The Department of Human Oncology (DHO) at the University of Wisconsin is dedicated to advancing the field of radiation oncology through excellence in education, research, and patient care. We are committed to training the next generation of leaders—including radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapy professionals—while conducting innovative research that drives progress in cancer treatment. Compensation

The starting salary for the position is $70,000; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and sick leave; competitive insurances and savings accounts; retirement benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with coding in MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree including coursework equivalent to a minor in Physics, Engineering, or related technical scientific disciplines. Required
  • Master's Degree, Experience with coding in MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages is preferred.
