Medical Optometry Full/Part Time - Private Practice (241 Rustic Lodge Rd, Indiana, PA 15701, USA)
About the role
Shirley Eye Care is seeking a full or part-time associate optometrist to join their well-established, family-owned-and-operated private optometric practice in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye care with a focus on medical optometry
- Offer same-day appointments for acute ocular issues
- Perform foreign body removals including rust ring
- Fitting custom soft and custom rigid gas permeable contact lenses and scleral contact lenses
- Manage and treat advanced dry eye, ocular surface disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma (including surgical co-management), diabetic eye care, and amblyopia
- Perform keratoconus cross linking surgery co-management
- Analyze fundus and anterior segment photography, visual fields, corneal topography and OCT
- Conduct LASIK/PRK consultations
- Support surgical post-op care for refractive surgery and cataracts
- Conduct Optomap retinal imaging & Anterior segment photography/videography
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree (or pending)
- Valid PA state license to practice optometry (or pending)
- Proficient level of understanding in insurance billing basics (further on site training provided)
- Extensive knowledge in medical management specific to optometry
- Friendly, compassionate personality with a collaborative and positive attitude
