Medical Oncology Clinical Nurse

About the role

Provides direct patient care to oncology patients in a 32-bed unit specializing in cancer treatment and symptom management, including high-acuity care for those on Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology services. The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team comprising oncology nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, social workers, pharmacy, and spiritual care providers.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans
• Promoting patient and family-centered care
• Educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration
• Emphasizing safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Critically evaluating physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers to involvement

Qualifications

• Accepted education: BSN or ADN
• License: RN
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and 2+ years of experience
