Medical Oncology - APP Sr

Texas Oncology in San Antonio is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support the Medical Oncology team at the Medical Center, 5206 Research Dr., San Antonio, TX 78240. Responsibilities

• Provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings.
• Document visits, educate patients and families, order and review diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, and manage symptoms.
• Counsel and support patients, collaborate with physicians and refer to other health‑care providers as needed.
• Educate staff, students, and the community; participate in tumor boards, institutional trainings, and meetings.
• Utilize the Electronic Health Record proficiently and adhere to Texas Oncology documentation policies.
• Perform appropriate diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
• Support and comply with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner: MSN from an accredited nursing school, successful completion of an NP program, RN licensure, current NP state license, BLS/CPR certification. Experience levels: Level 1 (0‑3 years), Level 2 (3 years), Level Sr (6 years).
• Physician Assistant: Accredited PA program graduation, current NCCPA certification, state PA license, BLS/CPR certification. Experience levels: Level 1 (0‑3 years), Level 2 (3 years), Level Sr (6 years).
• Clinical Nurse Specialist: MSN from an accredited nursing school, successful completion of a CNS program, RN licensure, current CNS state license, BLS/CPR certification. Experience levels: Level 1 (0‑3 years), Level 2 (3 years), Level Sr (6 years).

Physical Demands

The position requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Employees must stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift items up to 40 lb, and have corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
