About the Role

Rocky Mountain Oncology, a member of the Navista alliance, is seeking a hematologist/oncologist to join its practice in Lander, WY. Navista provides support, technology, and resources to independent community oncology practices, enabling them to remain independent while delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care. The Lander center is a spacious, state-of-the-art facility offering comprehensive services, including oncology, chemotherapy, radiation oncology, infusion, and imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Discuss and explain treatment options with patients, helping them manage side effects and symptoms.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
  • Handle stressful situations, make informed decisions, and provide emotional support to patients and families.
  • Document and coordinate individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including updating patient records, writing prescriptions, providing educational materials, and monitoring treatment plans.
  • Respond promptly to patient and referring physician needs and concerns regarding treatment.
  • Promote cooperation and teamwork among physicians and clinic staff.
  • Comply with all credentialing, quality assurance, and utilization review criteria adopted by the Company.
  • Adhere to the company’s code of conduct, compliance program, and medical record documentation standards.
  • Maintain values consistent with the profession’s code of ethics and scope of practice, following national, company, and treatment delivery standards.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain clinical competency.

Requirements

  • MD or MD/PhD with medical training specifically in oncology and/or hematology-oncology.
  • Board certified and/or Board eligible in hematology/oncology with a state license in good standing.
  • If Board eligible, must be willing to take and pass boards within 12 months.
  • Ability to interpret clinical, genomic, and efficacy data.
  • Technical skills to operate medical equipment and tools related to cancer treatment.
  • Compliance with privileging, credentialing, and licensing applications to remain in good standing per group and hospital bylaws.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, technicians, and medical professionals.

Pay

Anticipated pay range: $650,000 - $750,000 (+ WRVU productivity). Sign-on bonus: $100,000. Bonus eligible: Yes.
