About the role
The Medical Office Clinical Assistant is responsible for supporting physicians and optimizing patient care by providing accurate clinical documentation, performing essential medical procedures, and ensuring efficient, compliant, and compassionate healthcare operations. The Medical Office Clinical Assistant is an onsite position at the Bowling Green Clinic, full time.
Essential Functions
- Assist physicians during patient assessments, examinations, and treatments while ensuring accurate, real-time documentation of all clinical encounters.
- Document comprehensive patient information, including medical histories, physical exam findings, procedures, diagnostic results, CPT/diagnosis codes, and care plans as directed by the provider.
- Perform clinical support tasks such as obtaining vital signs, preparing patients and exam rooms, collecting and labeling specimens, administering injections, and conducting CLIA-waived tests and EKGs within scope of practice.
- Coordinate patient care activities by entering orders, managing prescriptions, completing required forms, handling prior authorizations, and triaging patient communications in accordance with office protocols.
- Maintain compliance with confidentiality, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA) while ensuring a clean, well-stocked clinical environment and ongoing professional competency.
- Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.
- Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.

Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting or Licensed Practical Nursing program
- License: Must have one of the following: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

- Certification: BLS within 90 days
