Medical Office Receptionist
About the role
Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Monitor patient records for program compliance, and call monthly for patient engagement. Complete prior authorizations necessary for medications prescribed to patients. Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established protocol. Obtain accurate information from patients and other physician offices and ensure all registration forms are complete. Verify insurance coverage.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, scanning and updating personal and financial information, confidentially.
- Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges.
- Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.
- Check out patients and create sales receipts for services provided.
- Must be able to lift 20lb boxes as part of the restocking process.
Requirements
Experience with Pear & Availity is helpful. Must be able to lift 20lb boxes as part of the restocking process.
Qualifications
Full-time position. Must have 1 year of experience as a Medical Office Receptionist (preferred).
Skills
Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and strong organizational skills.
