Oneida Health is looking for a full-time Medical Office Assistant-Float for its external medical practices. This position is designed to be both clinical and administrative and reports to the Practice Manager.

Schedule

Hours are 8am - 4:30pm. You would report 3 days to the Podiatry office and float within our network for the remaining 2 days.

Responsibilities

  • Using a customer service attitude for all patient interactions in person and on the telephone.
  • Being a keen observer while collecting and recording data about the patient.
  • Addressing the needs of patients, visitors, co-workers, and the practice in a positive and timely manner.
  • Demonstrating strong computer skills.
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients including infection prevention techniques according to hospital standards.
  • Assisting providers with procedures and examinations.
  • Performing treatments and procedures as directed.
  • Reassuring patients about wait times and delays, while giving priority to acutely ill patients.
  • Maintaining medical records accurately.
  • Checking equipment and stocking supplies as needed.
  • Placing supply and pharmacy orders.
  • Facilitating and executing physician orders as directed.
  • Coordinating and scheduling referrals and surgeries.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
  • Medical Office: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Computer Skills: 1 year (Required)
