We’re seeking a highly organized Medical Office Assistant to streamline administrative and clinical coordination tasks remotely—ensuring seamless patient scheduling, documentation compliance, and provider support across U.S.-based practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups via EMR/EHR systems for multiple provider calendars.
- Verify insurance eligibility, process referrals, and coordinate pre-authorizations with payers.
- Support clinical documentation by transcribing provider notes, updating patient charts, and ensuring ICD-10/CPT coding accuracy.
- Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, and secure messaging—addressing appointment, billing, and clinical questions promptly.
- Coordinate lab, imaging, and specialist referrals; track results and notify providers within SLA.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant records, manage digital filing, and assist with credentialing and compliance documentation.
Requirements
- EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, Epic, eClinicalWorks)
- Medical terminology
- ICD-10 & CPT coding
- Insurance verification & prior authorization

- Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Experience with telehealth platforms (e.g., Doxy.me, Zoom for Healthcare)
- Familiarity with practice management software (e.g., NextGen, Greenway)
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) or equivalent credential
