MEDICAL MOBILE VAN DRIVER/PATIENT ACCESS NAVIGATOR

Summary: The Medical Mobile Van Driver/Patient Access Navigator is responsible for safely transporting and operating the medical van to various service locations while ensuring timely arrival for scheduled events. This role supports on-site operations, assists with equipment setup and breakdown, maintains vehicle readiness, and adheres to all safety and traffic regulations. Additionally, this position contributes to patient services by scheduling appointments, managing check-in/check-out processes, and supporting care coordination functions.

Responsibilities

Mobile Van Operations and Transport Responsibilities

• Operate the mobile van safely, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport the mobile van efficiently to ensure on-time arrival for scheduled events.
• Load and unload items from the van for setup and dismantling at the end of events.
• Ensure vans are fueled at the start of each event for safe arrival and transport the mobile van to a designated mechanic as needed.
• Adapt to varying work hours based on event schedules.
• Contact patients from an assigned list to schedule routine appointments.
• Support EDR by scheduling patients and managing check-in and check-out processes.

Patient Access Navigator Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, professional customer service to patients and visitors.
• Register and check in patients, verify demographics, insurance, and program eligibility, and update information in EPM/EHR systems.
• Collect required documentation, including proof of income, consents, and medical records release forms.
• Schedule and confirm appointments and assist patients with follow-up care and access to services.
• Collect patient payments and provide basic assistance with billing-related questions.
• Ensure patient information, forms, and documentation are complete and accurately entered into appropriate systems.
• Communicate with clinical and administrative staff to support patient flow, care coordination, and timely access to services.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all applicable policies and procedures related to patient access and information.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of and observe all SBNC policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Attend all required SBNC meetings and trainings.
• Interact with patients, physicians, staff, vendors, and visitors in a positive manner that reflects the SBNC mission and philosophy.
• Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Experience as a Mobile Van Driver.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. No history of violations or license suspensions. Any changes in license status or driving record must be reported immediately.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills.

The Medical Mobile Van Driver may not use or test positive for controlled substances. The use of any substance that may impair the ability to safely operate a vehicle is strictly prohibited. A positive drug test will result in disqualification.

Physical Demands

• May be required to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
• Sitting in a normal seat for extended periods of time.
• Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms.

Pay

Salary Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
