Medical Malpractice/Nursing Home Defense Attorney

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload defending nursing home negligence claims independently.
• Lead all litigation phases, including pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, and court appearances.
• Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and detailed reporting.
• Draft and review complex legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Collaborate with team members on strategic legal projects, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in NY.
• Over 5 years of defense litigation experience, focusing on medical malpractice and nursing home negligence.
• Experience taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions.
• Ability to independently manage complex cases and drive towards resolution.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with strong legal argument presentation.
• Trial experience is a plus; understanding of federal and state regulations.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
