About the role

The Regional Medical Director (RMD) is a leadership role supporting veterinary hospitals in the Austin area, focusing on mentoring veterinarians, strengthening hospital teams, and promoting practice growth while ensuring high medical standards.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop veterinarians through mentorship, coaching, and performance reviews to enhance medical, surgical, and communication skills.
• Foster hospital collaboration by sharing best practices, improving workflows, and providing clinical resources.
• Recruit and onboard veterinary talent, supporting the integration of new doctors for long-term success.
• Partner with hospital leaders to support operational needs, equipment investments, and medical initiatives aligned with growth.
• Support regional growth by expanding services and strengthening medical capabilities in the Houston market.
• Build the veterinary workforce through externship and internship programs and representing the organization within the veterinary community.

Qualifications

• DVM degree and current licensure.
• Experience managing multi-site hospitals, with ownership or lead veterinarian experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
