The Regional Medical Director (RMD) role supports veterinary hospitals in the Austin area, focusing on mentoring veterinarians, strengthening hospital teams, and promoting practice growth while maintaining high medical standards. Key Responsibilities Include Supporting and developing veterinarians through mentorship, coaching, and performance reviews to enhance clinical, surgical, and communication skills.Fostering hospital collaboration by sharing best practices, optimizing workflows, and ensuring access to necessary clinical resources.Recruiting and onboarding veterinary talent to build a strong regional team and support long-term engagement.Partnering with hospital leaders to support growth, resource allocation, and medical initiatives aligned with hospital success.Supporting service expansion and medical capabilities to promote regional growth.Building future veterinary talent through externship and internship programs and representing the organization within the veterinary community. Qualifications include a DVM degree, current licensure, experience managing multi-site hospitals, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Preferred experience includes hospital ownership or leadership roles. The role emphasizes supporting hospitals through mentorship and collaboration rather than distant oversight, fostering a culture of trust, connection, and medical excellence. The RMD helps shape the regional veterinary culture and long-term careers.
