Medical Laboratory Technician - PRN

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will provide laboratory services to meet the needs of patients, perform diagnostic and monitoring procedures, and maintain laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory tests using automated and manual methods.
• Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications and departmental protocols.
• Trains other laboratory personnel on proper procedure and safety guidelines.
• Documents test results accurately and reports any discrepancies to the Laboratory Manager or designee.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor degree in a laboratory related science (i.e.: microbiology, allied health, etc.) accompanied by an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Adheres to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and the accrediting body regulations.

Qualifications

• Three years of previous clinical laboratory experience.

Preferred

• Certified as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS); ASCP, AMT(HHS).
