Medical Laboratory Technician

Performs and reports laboratory procedures to support optimal patient outcomes using laboratory skills. Responsible for assigned shifts, with potential overtime and callbacks, and performs additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, and prioritizes specimens for accurate and timely testing.
• Executes requested laboratory procedures and reports results.
• Conducts quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance, and inventory management.
• Ensures positive patient identification to minimize errors and adverse outcomes.
• Supports ongoing learning and completes assigned goals.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of completed accredited MLT program; no experience required but hospital experience preferred.
• Basic computer literacy is essential.
• Licensure includes temporary state licensure or national certification, with full licensure obtained within six months.
