About the Role
Will perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills of a complex nature
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control Monitoring
- Perform instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting
- Handle specimen processing and phlebotomy
- Provide customer service
MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) additional responsibilities:
- Interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge
- Exhibit problem-solving skills of a highly complex nature
- Participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation
Requirements
MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician)
- Graduate of an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technician OR meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative route
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent) is required within one year from the date of hire
MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist)
- Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science OR MLT (ASCP) certified with additional semester hours in clinical laboratory equivalents from an accredited school with 2 years of full-time lab experience and certified as an MLS (ASCP)
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)) is required within one year from the date of hire
Pay
- MLT: $24.48 - $36.72 per hour
- MLS: $30.14 - $45.21 per hour
Bonus eligible for external candidates.
