About the Role

Perform diagnostic laboratory tests to deliver accurate and timely results for clinical use while maintaining quality assurance and adhering to federal and state regulations (OSHA, CLIA).

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic laboratory tests and document results accurately.
  • Participate in teamwork and effective communication using Vocera.
  • Recognize testing priorities and ensure timely delivery of results.
  • Conduct EKGs and specimen collection (venipuncture, capillary, arterial) following proper procedures.
  • Maintain quality control, troubleshoot test systems, and keep detailed records.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and safety policies, including HIPAA, Infection Control, and Chemical Hygiene.
  • Support laboratory projects, training, and participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Demonstrate travel flexibility and willingness to serve on committees.

Requirements

  • Accredited Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • ASCP or equivalent certification (or eligible).
  • Proficiency in laboratory procedures and strong communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified in BLS or willingness to obtain certification if not already certified.
  • Flexibility for varying shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
