Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Clinical Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure new clinical sites and contractual agreements;
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to establish regular placement sites for students.
  • Arrange student orientations at each clinical education site;
  • Cookordinate and revise the clinical education plan.
  • Visit clinical sites regularly to review and evaluate student clinical performance and progress;
  • Cookordinate with site instructors to ensure effective clinical education.
  • Maintain student grades per established policies;
  • Prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts.
  • Prepare lesson plans and instruct students in MLT techniques;
  • Perform the duties of an MLT instructor as needed.
  • Recommend changes to the Program Director and may assist with student applicant admissions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the USDE.
  • Must hold a credential from a nationally recognized and accredited agency as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist.
  • Minimum 3 years of documented practical experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist.
  • Current license, certification, or other designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the field.
  • 1 year of instructor experience in a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in MLT content areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer applications.
