About the role

The Department 60909 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Lab: Greensboro Medical Plaza is seeking a part-time laboratory technician with experience in oncology and hematology.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to maintain a cooperative work environment.
• Accurately documents and communicates patient laboratory test results.
• Performs procedures efficiently and accurately, within the required turn-around-time.
• Responds to STAT requests immediately.
• Fulfills workflow processes according to documented procedures.
• Follows Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
• Ensures accuracy and promptly reports patient results.
• Handles critical values, technical limit failures, and QA activities.
• Recognizes and resolves test/reporting system problems.
• Performs age-specific patient procedures.
• Maintains safety and compliance by following policies and procedures.
• Uses appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Coordinates activities and communicates effectively with colleagues.
• Adjusts schedule to meet changes in workload.

Requirements

• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience preferred.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.

Qualifications

• Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
• Technical ability and interest.
• Computer and keyboard skills preferred.

Skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

$25.30 - $37.95 per hour
