Medical Laboratory Technician Lead

About the role

Performs and reports laboratory procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for specimen handling, quality control, instrument calibration, and routine maintenance. Supports ongoing training and provides backup support when needed. Ensures accurate specimen identification and manages supplies efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, organize, and prioritize specimens for testing.
• Conduct and document laboratory procedures and quality control processes.
• Perform instrument calibration, maintenance, and inventory management.
• Verify positive patient identification to minimize errors.
• Assist with training staff and support technical leadership.
• Achieve assigned goals and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or military medical laboratory training.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Basic computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Licensure: ASCP, AMT, or equivalent (preferred: ASCP).
