Medical Laboratory Technician-Inpatient Part-time Nights

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs test procedures in a clinical laboratory and conveys the results to the physician or designee in an accurate and timely manner for the purpose of patient diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies order where necessary
• Handles unresolved orders, troubleshoots where needed. Informs senior staff of resolutions. Escalates promptly when unable to resolve.
• Collects, receives and processes of specimens
• Maintains test system integrity
• Performs technical review and interpretation
• Performs post-analytical responsibilities
• Performs charge capture/billing

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Allied Health
• Must obtain Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (ASCP) or equivalent certification within 1 year of hire date
