Medical Laboratory Technician I, Microbiology - Evening
About the role
The Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLTI) is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of waived and non-waived test results. This role requires adherence to CLIA standards and follows established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and record keeping.
- Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing sample testing methods.
- Adhere to quality control policies, document quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
- Identify and address issues affecting test performance or reporting, and report deviations from established performance specifications.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Laboratory Sciences or Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Clinical Laboratory Sciences certification.
- Experience: 0-1 years required.
- Licenses and Credentials: Medical Laboratory Technician [MLT(ASCP)] - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of laboratory equipment and operations.
- Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with various staff members.
