About the role
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 people in rural, southwest Alaska. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The position is based in Bethel.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests under the direction of the laboratory manager
- Conduct quality control procedures
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding laboratory results
- Provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required
- Board eligibility by NCA or ASCP required, certification within one year of employment
- One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology or formal student internship
- Clinical laboratory instrumentation and laboratory generalist skills required
- Capable of working independently and providing direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants
Qualifications
- MT certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS certification by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

- Minimum hourly pay: $37.01
