Medical Laboratory Technician

Role Overview This position involves performing waived and non-waived laboratory tests accurately and efficiently under supervision, ensuring compliance with CLIA '88 and other regulatory standards. Responsibilities include assisting with specimen collection, receipt, and processing, while adhering to departmental policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements. The role reports to the department supervisor and may involve supporting laboratory compliance and quality assurance. Qualifications & Skills Must demonstrate personal maturity, responsibility, and effective communication skills.Exhibits excellent reading, writing, math, and organizational abilities.Capable of detailed work, multitasking, problem-solving, and quickly assimilating instructions.Possesses basic computer proficiency and strong customer service skills.Requires competency in specimen collection and processing, including phlebotomy where applicable. Minimum Requirements Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.Equivalent laboratory training and experience per CLIA regulations, or other qualifying credentials.Must maintain certification if applicable in certain states.Foreign-educated candidates need credential evaluation and translation of diplomas. Preferred Qualifications MLT certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT).Knowledge of specimen requirements and medical terminology.Experience in phlebotomy and specimen processing.Additional related education or experience.
