Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine and STAT laboratory analyses in a clinical setting, supporting accurate and timely patient diagnosis and treatment. Conducts testing across multiple disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and CLIA-waived testing, following established protocols and quality control standards. Ensures proper specimen handling, operates laboratory instrumentation, and maintains compliance with regulatory requirements and safety guidelines.

Minimum Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate degree in Medical Technology or equivalent field.
Minimum Related Experience
- Experience implementing, maintaining and using laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR).
- Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, including experience in all areas of the laboratory (chemistry, hematology, etc.) and all aspects of testing (pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic) preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience coordinating proficiency testing preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites
- Certification as Medical Lab Technician from the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (MT-ASCP) or equivalent licensure.
- Certification to perform “moderate complexity” testing as defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS-CLIA).
- CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray prior to hire.
- Must abide by departments vaccination policy and will need to provide immunization records.
- Complete a Clinical Laboratory training certification at the following time frames;
- Thirty (30) days after onboarding, six (6) months after onboarding, with competency verification annually
