About the Role

As a Medical Lab Technologist, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment. You will conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.

You will provide essential clinical laboratory support, including clinical correlation of results, identification of patterns of bias, rapid notification of critical values, and completion of testing within established turnaround-time limits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lab test procedures on patient specimens in alignment with local and state requirements, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure major automated equipment is operational by performing maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting; contact vendors for assistance or repairs as needed.
  • Perform required calibration and quality control procedures, maintaining records to ensure tests meet established parameters.
  • Conduct proficiency testing as assigned and review results with laboratory clinical leaders.
  • Assist in evaluating and generating compliant documentation for the validation of new procedures and equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA or High School diploma/GED and completion of an official military medical laboratory course with the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician).
  • Appropriate training in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Laboratory Technician certification (MLT-AMT, MLT-ASCP, or MLT-AAB).

Pay
