Medical Laboratory Technician

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia (CCP) is a professional medical organization committed to the healing mission of Medicine and is part of a national cardiology platform, Cardiovascular Logistics (CVL). Together, we share the same mission to provide patients with the highest quality cardiovascular care available. This position is for an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician to perform moderate complexity testing in the laboratory located within the new CCP Now cardiac walk-in clinic.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient samples following proper patient identification and specimen labeling processes.
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and recording patient test results.
• Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and document all quality control activities.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, ensuring proper calibration and performance.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.
• Follow the laboratory’s established corrective action policies and procedures, documenting actions taken.
• Comply with all laboratory safety standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with team members and other office staff to ensure patient safety, satisfaction, and continuous quality improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have 6 years of relevant experience.
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Science.
• Must have MLS(ASCP) certification.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to discern colors for visually read tests.
• Dexterity to perform manual tasks.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids, chemicals.
