Responsibilities

• Follows standard operating procedures for MLS/MLTs
• Ensures laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met
• Recognizes and complies with safety hazards and protocols
• Captures and processes lab specimens with appropriate equipment
• Performs clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods
• Collects and manages samples of blood and other fluids from patients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in laboratory or biological sciences required
• National certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved HHS agency (e.g., ASCP) or registry eligibility
• If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice
• Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to state requirements for licenses and certifications
• May require Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
