Medical Laboratory Scientist - per diem
About the role
The position is responsible for professional Medical Laboratory Scientist bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s). The position performs routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean. The position has responsibility for planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program
- OR Bachelor’s Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas
- Upon hire: National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology
- OR Upon hire: National Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists
- OR Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology
- OR Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Medical Technologists
- 1 year in a clinical laboratory performing moderate and high complexity testing

Pay
The successful candidate’s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The base pay range is $37.84 – $58.75 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
