About the role
This position is a core lab technologist (blood bank, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry). Join our Laboratory Team at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital to be an integral part of delivering precise and reliable laboratory results that impact patient outcomes positively.
Responsibilities
- Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
- Performs all testing and operation of equipment as necessary to deliver quality results.
- Trains new laboratory personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
- Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
- Affords technical and/or instrument problems, including quality control and abnormal findings, evaluates possible solutions and chooses an appropriate course of action to solve the problem.
- Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and initiatives by proactively diagnosing and resolving problems.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Physical/Life Science/related field.
- Physical/Life Science/related Experience: No Experience.
- Licenses & Certifications: ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent.

Pay
$3,750 Sign-On Bonus (for eligible applicants)
Schedule
24 Hours Per Week
Prefer 2x12 Hour Shifts or 3x8 Hour Shifts
6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. or 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Every 5th Weekend Required
Holiday Rotation (2 Holidays Per Year)
