MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST - LAB
About the Role
The Medical Laboratory Technologist or Scientist performs chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures in the Central Clinical Laboratory. This role requires the exercise of independent judgment and interpretation. All individuals in this job classification meet the qualifications necessary to perform high-complexity testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA '88).
Schedule
0.9 FTE / 72 hours every two weeks on night shifts. Schedule follows a 7 shifts on / 7 shifts off pattern with 12-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or a related field.
- Active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Laboratory Science certification (MLS-ASCP), or equivalent, or attainment within 12 months of hire.
- Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or regulatory agencies.
- Current BLS certification may be required.

Credentials
Essential: Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from the ASCP Board of Certification.
