About the role
The Medical Laboratory Scientist II plays a crucial role in the laboratory operations, performing both Testing Personnel and General Supervisor duties as per CLIA regulations. This position requires a high level of independence and adherence to strict quality control standards.
Responsibilities
- Carries out all policies and performs all tests in accordance with departmental SOPs.
- Works independently to ensure accurate results and records.
- Supervises assigned workstations, including QC review, training, competency assessment, and inventory management.
- Performs specimen processing, test analysis, reporting, and record maintenance.
- Maintains records demonstrating proficiency testing sample testing.
- Adheres to quality control policies, documents all activities, and follows corrective action procedures.
- Identifies and addresses issues affecting test performance or reporting.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
- Certification: Medical Technologist (ASCP) with BOC certification.
- Experience: 1-2 years of lab experience.
- Knowledge: Understanding of laboratory equipment, analytic techniques, and ability to work independently.
- Skills: Multi-tasking, attention to detail, professional interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively.

Pay
Base pay ranges from $25.15 to $36.63 hourly, with a salary range of $30.50 to $49.00 annually. Offers are determined based on minimum job qualifications and additional factors such as skills, experience, education, and certifications.
