Responsibilities
- Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
- Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
- Supervise by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
- Serve as General Supervisor and Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
- Instruct new employees and students.
Requirements
- 2 years Medical Technologist Experience
- Associate's Degree Required
- Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred
- Licensed Medical Technologist Required
- Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required
- Licensed as a Medical Technologist in the State of Florida and in the areas of Chemistry and Hematology
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree Required
- Credential: Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred or Licensed Medical Technologist Required
Skills
- Trained in chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology, and some serology
- Experience with Beckman Instruments and automation lines for chemistry, hematology, and coagulation instruments
- Comfortable working with a team of 7-8 Medical Technologists and four Specimen Processors
