Medical Laboratory Scientist II, Part Time, Core Lab

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Supervise by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
• Serve as General Supervisor and Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Instruct new employees and students.

Requirements

• 2 years Medical Technologist Experience
• Associate's Degree Required
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred
• Licensed Medical Technologist Required
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required
• Licensed as a Medical Technologist in the State of Florida and in the areas of Chemistry and Hematology

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree Required
• Credential: Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred or Licensed Medical Technologist Required

Skills

• Trained in chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology, and some serology
• Experience with Beckman Instruments and automation lines for chemistry, hematology, and coagulation instruments
• Comfortable working with a team of 7-8 Medical Technologists and four Specimen Processors
