About the role
This role is a hospital-based position at Jersey Shore. We are hiring full time across multiple shifts. All positions are eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and troubleshoot all applicable instruments/procedures in the department.
- Support the department in quality control, troubleshooting, customer support, instrument and equipment maintenance, staff training, process improvement, and special projects.
- Report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with SOPs, ensuring quality control requirements are met.
- Support and comply with laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record keeping.
- Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
- Assist supervisor with training of other laboratory personnel.
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Use personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and work practice controls as directed by management.
- Answer questions from clients or other lab personnel.
- Participate in government or regulatory agency inspections.
- May assume lead responsibilities in the absence of a Supervisor.
Requirements
- One (1) year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting (high complexity testing).
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with most current year in present department.
- Frequent standing, walking, and manual dexterity.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
- ASL/MLS certification preferred.
- Knowledge of organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
- Comprehensive theoretical and operational job knowledge in designated specialty required.

- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- Effective communication skills, including dealing with confidential client information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems.
